10 Japan best-kept secret tourist spots (recommendation); attractive but not crowded places

10 Japan best-kept secret tourist spots which are good but not crowded are shown here based on my experience of going around all of 47 prefectures in Japan.
The place where I thought "It might be estimated more! It was wasteful!" is mentioned, but it's uncrowded, so it's possible to look at it leisurely by your pace.



1. Ashio copper mine (Tochigi prefecture)


You can enjoy the mysterious atmosphere here. It comes out a Japanese social session, so there is celebrity, but it's uncrowded, so it's also possible to take a picture carefully.
The souvenir shop assistant people are very gentle, and it should be possible to enjoy small talk.

2. The Little world museum of man (Aichi prefecture)


A mini global travel can be enjoyed here. There are houses of various countries, and you can put in.
You can rent a traditional costume, and enjoy feeling of overseas travelling though you're in Japan.

3. Nagasaki biotechnology park (Nagasaki prefecture)


It'll be possible to touch cute animals immediately here. There are a lot of animals such as water pig, meerkat and a kangaroo, and you can touch them in close range.
I think it's intolerable to the animal lover!

4. Ise Samurai kingdom (Mie prefecture)


This is an amusement facility whose theme is warlike ages in Japan, and the percentage of completion is high considerably. You can see Samurai and Ninja.
The view of Ise-bay sea from a castle is wonderful, and the dramatic comedy and action are fascinating. In addition that, japanese mechanism residence and the labyrinth are also fascinating!

5. Soya hill (Hokkaido)



Even the natural inside in Hokkaido is the more wonderful one here. "It isn't Japan." the scenery spreads. A cycling and a drive can be enjoyed.
It's merged with the nostalgic atmosphere of Soya-Honsen and it's recommended.

6.  Horyuji temple (Nara prefecture)


By obvious the oldest wooden building in the world, Horyuji temple is the world's cultural and natural heritage! Nevertheless, it's uncrowded compared with Kyoto and Nara Park.
The valuable items which come out in a Japanese textbook are exhibited at a museum.
You can enjoy such real precious temple slowly, and can spend luxurious time.

Addition.  Miidera temple (Shiga prefecture)


This temple is also recommended. The nice scenery with the biggest lake in Japan, Biwako Lake and the Japanese temple can be enjoyed.
It's in the location close from Kyoto, but not crowded. So I think this spot may be estimated more.
It's also a location place of Japanese movie "Samurai X."

 7. Toki Messe (Niigata prefecture)


Niigata city has beautiful view overall.  Among them, the view from observation room of Toki Messe is also striking. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Shinano river as if it were in Europe.
You can climb to there for free.

8. Oga Peninsula (Akita prefecture)


Oga Peninsula is one of wonderful driving courses in Japan.
There are a lot of highlights such as the beautiful scenery along the sea and about traditional character "Namahage". It was comfortable to drive without a traffic jam.

9. Yanase Takashi memorial hall (Kochi prefecture)


This is a memorial hall of an creator of Anpanman, which is one of the most popular anime in Japan.
Children can enjoy the exhibition of course.
And the philosophy which Yanase included in his work such as "The neighbor of despair is hope" are exhibited, so it might be interesting for adults, too.
Yanase is known as a late bloomer, he created Anpanman when he was 50 years old. The fact might encourage us.

10. The samurai residence area in Hagi city (Yamaguchi prefecture)


Hagi city is one of the most influencing point as Choshu-prefecture at last years of Edo period. And Samurai residence remains there.
Shokasonjuku in Hagi is one of the most famous Japanese private schools, many revolutionary graduated there.
You can enjoy Japanese historical scene and also ocean view by rental cycling etc.
I think it's a good town by the quiet atmosphere.
